Carly Rae Jepsen's First Pitch at Rays Game Goes ... Astray

Carly Rae Jepsen's First Pitch at Rays Game Goes ... Astray

Carly Rae Jepsen is usually pitch perfect. But the "Call Me Maybe" singer's first pitch Sunday night at a Tampa Bay Rays home game needed a little work.

As seen in a video that is currently trending like crazy, it all went wrong with the wind-up and release.

As a result, once Jepsen pitched, the ball never crossed home plate. Instead, it slowly rolled across the first-base line before hitting a camera.

Jepsen, 27, certainly had a great sense of humor about it, covering her face, laughing and throwing her hands in the air.

She even posted a series of photos of the terrible toss on Instagram, stating, "A before and after. Me taking the mound. Me knocking the camera out of the photographers hands with the baseball. And me getting a sympathy hug from the catcher. Omg."

To Jepsen's credit, the diminutive singer tossed a strike in April when she threw the ceremonial first pitch at a Baltimore Orioles game, according to the Baltimore Sports Report.

Despite the ominous start to Sunday night's game, the Rays went on to beat the Houston Astros 5-0.
